Create New Future Growth Engine Businesses

KOFOTI plans to support the development of new textiles and generate demand through creation of new future growth engine businesses, newly establish a stream-tostream convergence support system for balanced development and enhanced competitiveness among industry segments, and participate in exhibitions of new products & business matching sessions. The plan will address apparel manufacturing, distribution & cooperative business networks, technological cooperation between industry segments, win-win cooperation & eco-friendly businesses, linkage of the fashion industry to other business fields, analysis of fashion markets and more efficient information provision.

Identification of New Convergence Markets & Creation of Jobs

KOFOTI plans to operate the Textile-IT Convergence Support Center and Textile + Fashion Business School and provide CEOs with global knowledge management and human networks, while supporting cultivation of manpower matched with industrial demand through support of education and training centers. To invigorate its scholarship foundation, the federation intends to strengthen diverse activities, including provision of scholarships and mentoring program with investment of 500 million won in the endowment fund continuing from 2011, and also plans to promote field experience and learning for students majoring in textile-related fields to achieve manpower cultivation.

Expansion of Exports & Support for Marketing

KOFOTI plans to contribute to the expansion of exports through support of overseas marketing by organizing and directly participating in domestic and overseas exhibitions like Preview in USA, Preview in China, Preview in Seoul, etc. and supporting participation in overseas exhibitions, including Texworld Paris, as well as trade and market exploration missions to identify new markets and new buyers.

Reinforcement of Trade Activities & International Cooperation

KOFOTI intends to strengthen cooperation with key countries, including China, Japan, Taiwan, India and the EU, respond rapidly to bilateral FTAs, and strive for the activation of South and North Korea economic cooperation, while promoting reinforcement of international cooperation with respective countries, including joining the ITMF (International Textile Manufacturers Federation).

Enhancement of Textile & Fashion Industry’s Position

Through establishment of an organic cooperation system with textile-related organizations, reinforcement of cooperation with the government & the National Assembly and internal & external publicity, KOFOTI plans to enhance the position of the textile & fashion industry and also promote domestic & overseas events, including Textile & Fashion Industry CEO Forum and Textile Day, successfully.
